Forward thinking music from Faizal Mostrixx out of East Africa (Uganda to be precise). We defy you not to dance to Chicken Groove.

Faizal Mostrixx hails from Kampala, Uganda, and this EP sees him melding samples from the continent and beyond with a whirlwind of beats and synths. He’s generating attention far beyond his native Kampala, with The Quietus singling him out for praise - “his electronic production focuses on traditional African instruments, with the intent of preserving and developing his cultural heritage” - and he’s has recently been picked up to provide the music to the ‘Freedom’ advert for Olivia Oblanc’s adidas Originals collection (check the video here: youtu.be/W0ec-Rioxlg), as well as receiving radio play on NTS, Netil and more. He’s played at the infamous Nyege Nyege festival, mersmerising audiences with organic rhythms and poetic electronic instrumentalism. As Africa Nouveau Festival puts it, Faizal is “an agent of ascension through the elevation of culture in Uganda and beyond” - we would just say listen to the killer tunes!
